Sylvie Daugherty

Sylvie Cathleen Daugherty, 32, passed away on January 25, 2026 in Portland, Oregon. Born on July 23, 1993, in Vancouver, Washington. Sylvie brought light and laughter into the lives of those who knew her.

A proud graduate of Heritage High School in Vancouver, Class of 2011. Sylvie was known for her intelligence, wit, and warmth. Her vibrant personality left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She was smart, funny, kind, and beautiful—inside and out.

Above all else, Sylvie found her greatest joy and honor in being a mother to her beloved son, Layne Wilson McFarland. Her love for him was boundless and unwavering.

Sylvie is deeply mourned by her mother, Cathryn Diane King; her father, Douglas Harry Daugherty; her stepmother, Dawn Tarpley; her significant other; Ryan Carter her grandmother, Cathy King; her siblings Amelia Fougere, Walter King, and Lucy Daugherty; her aunts Jenny Francis and Tammy Gager; and her uncle Todd Francis. Each of them carries cherished memories of Sylvie’s presence in their lives.
