Skipper “Skip” James Fox was born Oct. 29, 1977. After a 21 year fight against cancer, he is now pain free, cancer free and was surrounded by family as he passed on April 1, 2023.
With his wit, sense of humor, personality and comic relief, it was no surprise to any of us that he passed on April Fools Day for one more “I gotcha!”
Skip was the ultimate fan of sports, movies and music. The love he had for his Oregon Ducks and San Francisco 49ers was unmatched, except for the love he had for his wife, their children and his entire family.
Skip started his career in the grocery and delivery business at 15 years old. He most recently worked for C. Stein Beverage for over 20 years.
Skip is survived by his wife of over 20 years, Sarah; their children, Harley and Vanessa; parents, Terri and Larry; grandmother, Moe; siblings, Shawneen (Matt), Jennifer, Dreena, Danny (Amie), Christie (Robb), Billy (Laura); his Uncle Larry and Aunt Shelley; cousins, Alicia (Steve) and Ryan (Salina); numerous nieces and nephews, numerous extended family of great-uncles, great aunts and cousins, plus an incredible army of best friends. Skip was preceded in death by his Grandpa Skip.
A private family service will be held at Northwood Cemetery in Ridgefield, WA. A public memorial service and celebration of his life will be held at a future date this year.
We want to thank the head and neck doctors and oncology doctors at Portland Providence for adding quality years to his life.
We also want to thank the nurses at Community Home Health & Hospice for taking such amazing care of him during his last days.
We find small joy knowing he has been set free from cancer and is with Jesus.
There will never be anyone else in this world like him and the hearts of everyone who knew him are broken.
