Former Longview resident Shirley Mae Munger, 91, of Wilsonville, Ore., passed away Aug. 12, 2021, in Wilsonville Springs.
She was born Aug. 19, 1929, in Longview, to Al and Agnes Jerpe, and graduated from R.A. Long High School with the class of 1947.
On Oct. 11, 1947, Shirley married Charles “Chuck” Munger in Longview.
Shirley had a long career with the Bon Marche. After retiring, she and Chuck enjoyed traveling the U.S. She and her family built a cabin in Long Beach, and spent many years clam digging and searching for glass balls. Shirley also enjoyed crocheting and family gatherings.
Greeting Shirley on the other side were her parents; two siblings; her husband, Chuck; and a grandson, Matt Munger.
Survivors include three children, Steve (Sandy), Corine (Gene), and Stan (Lisa); seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27 at Steele Chapel. A viewing is planned from 1 p.m. to service time. Shirley will be laid to rest beside Chuck at Longview Memorial Park following the service.
