Ron was born on October 6, 1937 in Inglewood, California to Joe and Paulina (Cagnina) Martino. He graduated from Inglewood High School in 1956. He spent a brief time in college and then started working for ATT. He retired after 30 years. He continued his employment at Pacific Power and Light as an independent contractor for another 10 years. 

Ron was married in 1961 to his high school sweetheart, Juliann. They had a lot of fun together with many trips to Asia and Europe. His favorite trip was to Egypt. They have two children, Barry and Greg who continue to reside in Vancouver. 

moving to Vancouver over 50 years ago he quickly took up fishing. He spent many hours fishing the rivers of Southwest Washington and Oregon. One of his favorite rivers was the Kalama where he caught some nice fish of which he was very proud. A few family fishing trips to Vancouver Island were fun for everyone in the family.

Ron was always interested in sports. He lettered in three sports in high school. When he lived in California he also enjoyed scuba diving. Later in life he took up tennis. He very much enjoyed tennis where he made many good friends. One of his best experiences in sports was coaching Special Olympics. For 10 years he enjoyed his time with the Special Olympics athletes. For his time coaching he was awarded parent volunteer of the year by ARC. 

Ron is survived by his wife ,Juliann, and his two sons, Barry and Greg. His brother, Richard, and a nephew, Jimmy, both in California.

Ron was friendly and always made friends easily. He will be missed.
