Longtime local resident Patricia Ann Parker, 75, of Longview, passed away peacefully at home April 29, 2023, in her husband’s arms.

She was born July 23, 1947, in LaGrange, Ga., to Woodrow Wilson and Elsie Agnes (Harris) Hunter. Her father was a Southern Baptist minister and Patricia grew up singing in the church choir. She graduated from LaGrange High School in 1966.

In the summer of 1967 she met a young Army medic by the name of Mike Parker at a LaGrange dance. They were married Dec. 29, 1967, a few days before Mike was sent overseas.

Patricia was bubbly and outgoing. Her pastimes included singing, dancing and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by Mike, her loving husband of 55 years; two daughters, Michelle Parker of Kelso and Kathy Parker of Longview; a brother, Woodrow “Woody” Hunter of LaGrange; three sisters-in-law, Bev Moonen of Skamokawa, Wash., and Anita Beyer of Aumsville, Ore. Sheran Parker of Colorado Springs, CO; a brother-in-law, Dick Parker of Enumclaw, Wash.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; two half-sisters, Ailene and Erline; and a granddaughter, Felicia Marie Weidner.

A celebration of Patricia’s life will be announced at a later date.
