Mari Elaine (Kennedy) Hodges passed away on April 2, 2026, at the age of 41, surrounded by her family and friends in Clackamas, Oregon.
She was born in Vancouver, WA on December 3, 1984, to William and Jo Ann Kennedy. Mari was raised on a dairy farm in Ridgefield, where she developed a deep love for family, hard work, community and sports. She was an active member of FFA and 4-H, participating in home economics, gardening, judging and showing Holsteins alongside her older sisters. Ever the social butterfly, Mari especially loved the fairs and was deeply involved with the Clark County Dairy Women for most of her life. Among her many community activities, Relay for Life held a special place in her heart. After earning her associate's degree at Clark College, she was later employed at Target in Hazel Dell where she formed many wonderful, lasting friendships.
Mari had a smile and a kind word for everyone she met. She truly never met a stranger-once she met you, you were part of her world. We feel incredibly fortunate to have known and loved her. Her caring, easygoing, and joyful spirit would simply say "I'm okay" or "I'm fine", reflecting her strength and selflessness.
She will be deeply missed by her beloved son, Westin; her sisters, Angie and Jennifer Kennedy; her niece, Donna' her parents, Jo Ann and William Kennedy; and countless family members and friends whose lives she touched.
Mari was one of the strongest people we have ever known. While we wish we had more time with her, we find comfort in knowing she has reached her eternal home and is no longer in pain.
Please join us in celebrating Mari's life at Windy Hill's Winery in Ridgefield, on Friday, April 17th from 3:00 - 6:00 pm. We would love to hear your memories of Mari. If you feel inclined, please bring a recipe card with one of your favorite recipe's so we can create a book in remembrance of the many family Mari brought together.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you honor Mari by performing an act of kindness in her name, or by donating or volunteering with a charity that is meaningful to you.
"Grief is like glitter. It's messy, you can't clean it all up, and it shows up in unexpected places - in your hair, on your clothes, months or years later. It settles in to the deepest cracks, turning the unbearable pain into a lasting, sparkling reminder of the love that was lost."
