Laurie Ann Thompson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026, after a courageous five-month battle with stomach cancer. She was 63 years old.

Laurie was born on June 11, 1962, in Fulton, New York, to Ann and Robert Kastler. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ann Kastler, in 2020, and is survived by her father, Robert Kastler, age 91.

Laurie shared 42 wonderful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Scott Thompson. Together they built a life centered around family, love, and adventure.

Laurie attended the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) and SUNY Oneonta, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Merchandising. She began her career in retail merchandising before dedicating herself to raising her family at home. Later, she combined her passion for health and wellness with her love of helping others by working as a cycle instructor and personal trainer. She eventually joined Scott in business as Airtherm’s trusted assistant and bookkeeper.

Laurie was a devoted mother to her three children: Katherine Lilly and her husband, Max, parents to Teddy and Nora; Erica Lindemann and her husband, Kyle, parents to George and Weston; and Brett Thompson and his wife, Abbie. Nothing brought Laurie more joy than being “Bokky.” Her grandchildren always put a smile on her face and filled her life with love and pride.

Laurie embraced life fully and found happiness in traveling, bike riding, and spending sunny days out on the lake in the boat with family and friends. She will be remembered for her warmth, strength, “always there for you” energy, and the unconditional love she shared with those around her. Laurie would have celebrated 16 years of sobriety on May 22, 2026, one of her greatest accomplishments.

A celebration of Laurie’s life will be planned for July.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
