Our beloved Mom, Katherine (Kathy) M. Rowe passed peacefully at age 88, on May 9, 2026. She was born April 19, 1938, in Berwyn, IL. Her Vancouver, WA. family is survived by loving sons, Ken and Kevin Rowe, her daughter-in-law Kelli Rowe, and adopted son Rodney Rogers. She was also cherished by many nieces and nephews in Illinois, as well as other friends and relatives throughout the states. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents Pauline and Robert (Bunt) Parrish, sister Sandy Bright, and beloved husband Lawrence E. Rowe.
Kathy celebrated everything, ensuring that every gathering was full of warmth, laughter, and love. Famous for saying, “Don’t Get Old” followed by a big smile, she made sure that no one left hungry at birthdays and holidays. She was skilled at crafting greeting cards, and loved collecting stamps, bunnies, owls, and Disney treasures.
Kathy retired from a career in retail. She worked at Sears in Lincoln, NE. and Bothel, WA., and proudly boasted of the day that she and her manager were the only two employees during a blizzard. She retired from Grover Electric and Plumbing in Vancouver, WA. Kathy and Larry shared the American Numismatic Association Presidents Award for their dedication and involvement in the coin collector’s world. Her talent for coordinating and organizing coin shows was unmatched, and met with joy and deep appreciation.
Kathy was active in her faith at St. John Lutheran Church and The Upper Room at Life Journey Lutheran Church. She supported and volunteered with the local organizations Fish, and Friends of the Carpenter. She faithfully donated to local thrift stores, always stopping for a coffee or yogurt on the way home. Kathy is remembered for her kindness, creativity, humor, and the love she so freely gave to family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
