H. ("Henrie") Anne Ortiz, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 4, 2023. Henrie is survived by Armando A. Ortiz, Sr., her dedicated husband of 58 years; her children Amanda L. Ortiz, Armando F. Ortiz, Jr., Selena E. Ortiz (son-in-law Gary Adler, Jr.), and Carita S. Beatley (son-in-law Shane Beatley); her five grandchildren Matthew A. Trimble, (Danielle Stinson), Sophia Trimble (Tyler McJunkin), Marisa Beatley, Melena Beatley, and Samuel Adler Ortiz; her great-grand son Oliver McJunkin; her sisters Helen Haynes, Marie Trinidad (Joe Trinidad), Charlene Marcum, and Evelyn Salas (Leo Salas); and numerous nieces and nephews. Henrie was preceded in death by her mother, Carmen G. Edwards, her father, Lorenzo Gutierrez, her granddaughter Mia S. Beatley; her siblings, Nieto, Charles Jr., Sylvia, James, Hope, Ernie, and Margie. In life, Henrie loved and protected her family fiercely, she was caring, charming, witty, intelligent, generous, and always lent a helping hand to others when she could. She loved watching I Love Lucy, and was always willing to watch an episode with her family. A dedicated Catholic, Henrie watched mass every morning with her husband, and never unwavered in her commitment to care for their daughter Amanda. A highlight of her life was seeing Pope John Paul II in person in San Antonio during his 1987 tour. Mom is at peace now, she is resting in the light, and we all will look forward to being united with her in heaven with Christ in the future.
