Lifelong local resident Edna Joy Watkins, 88, of Longview passed away Dec. 19, 2021, at home.
She was born Dec. 21, 1932, in Longview, to Bill and Ruby Christman, and attended local schools.
Edna married Frank Joseph Watkins and became a homemaker. Family was first in her book. She also worked as a care aid at the Americana Nursing Home. She was outgoing and always happy to help others. She will be missed.
Edna was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge and enjoyed dancing, bowling and traveling. She loved gardening, especially watching her daffodils bloom.
She is survived by three daughters, Patti Reich of Oyama, British Columbia, Canada, and Barbie Wygant-McLaughlin and Kathryn Watkins, both of Longview; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank Watkins; a sister, Leona Harris; four brothers, Roy Christman, Merle Christman, Walt Christman and Leslie Christman; a brother-in-law, Charles Harris; and a great-granddaughter, Katelyn Tinling-Wisch.
At Edna’s request, no service will be held.
